Community of Practice Resources

Since July 2022, The Good Project has coordinated a Community of Practice involving educators from around the world who are interested in discussing “good work” with their students. To date, over 300 educators have joined the group, several dozen of whom have participated in a study funded by The John Templeton Foundation by teaching our lesson plans to their students during the course of 1-2 academic years.

Browse through our menu to discover a variety of freely available resources designed to support educators teaching Good Work. Access ready-to-use slides for class discussions, video clips of The Good Project's core concepts, and examples of student work to inspire your own teaching.

We're constantly updating and expanding this section based on feedback and requests from educators in our community. Check back often for the latest resources to help you promote Good Work in your classroom.

You are invited to sign up to join the The Good Project’s Community of Practice through Slack. Our Slack community is designed to be a space for educators to learn from each other and The Good Project team. Our community is focused on character education and the skills students will need to do “good work,” now and in the future.

By joining the Slack group, you will learn more about virtual opportunities such as:

  • Student gatherings in which students from different schools can sign up to discuss topics of interest.

  • If you are using The Good Project Lesson Plans, you can ask specific questions about how to teach certain lessons, request resources, and receive personalized advice.

  • Monthly Professional Development sessions taught by research team members of The Good Project.

  • Community of Practice gatherings led by experienced educators, focused on teaching strategies, resource sharing, challenges of practice, and more.
